The Empress Theatre in Vallejo will be hosting special concerts in the upcoming months.
The first will be “The Greatest Wagner Concert Ever.” Richard Wagner wrote 10 operas during the greatest cultural and political upheaval in the history of Europe. His work created the modern symphony orchestra and a new technique for vocalists that enabled them to be heard over an ensemble of instruments.
This concert will include excepts from five of his most romantic and electrifying operas. Thomas Conlin will be conducting the Vallejo Festival Orchestra with the well-known soprano soloist Othalie Graham. The concert will be at 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 15.
Also, the Edwards Twins are master make-up illusionists and will be using state-of-the-art make-up to look like the superstars of yesterday and today, not to mention sound like them. In their show, “An Evening with the Stars,” Eddie and Anthony Edwards will be portraying Celine Dion, Billy Joel, Sonny and Cher, and Bette Midler, among others. This show will be on Wednesday, January 26 at 7:30 pm.
Finally, East Bay Mudd Band is a nine-piece outfit that features rhythm and blues and classic soul, complete with a four-piece horn section. Their concert will be a “Powerhouse Tribute to Classic Soul and R&B” and will be at 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 5.
Such concerts are often promoted throughout a region with banner printing.
