Thrill seekers will now have a new ride to enjoy when the visit the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

The Pacific Rim 5D ride combines motions based seats with water effects and 3-D film, all staged inside a previously unused theater in the theme park. The film shown depicts a battle in Earth’s near future between a robot of 250 foot height, and invading monsters from the deep.

It all takes place inside the SimEx-Iwerks Turbo Theatre, which has not been used since 2008. This is just the latest offering from SimEx-Iwerks, which is based in Santa Clarita and has brought adaptations of ‘Ice Age’, ‘Rio’, and ‘Angry Birds’ to life in theaters that provide motion simulators. Print companies can design and Print T-Shirts that people can purchase as souvenirs of their ride. These also help promote the attraction to the public, encouraging them to try it for themselves.

The distribution of film ‘Pacific Rim’ was possible through the efforts of Warner Bros. They license the DC Comics superheroes and also the Looney Tune characters from cartoons to the different Six Flags amusement parks across the country.

Throughout the off-season, the park will be open on weekends as well as some selected dates through the week. These opening times will be increased once the summer season kicks off on May 27.
