Mad Hatter Holiday festival returns to Vallejo

Vallejo residents recently got to enjoy a local holiday tradition that was a little bit out of the ordinary.

The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival offered a range of ways for people to participate There was a Wonderland Festival that took place at Unity Plaza, and also a parade that wound its way through the city from Georgia and Sonoma Boulevards. The Grand Marshal for the parade was Midsi Sanchez, who is an advocate for missing children and their families.

Those who enjoy the brightly colored lights that are often a big part of the celebrations this time of year were treated to a tree lighting, and then a parade of lighted boats. A printer can produce colorful Banners that fit in perfectly with the overall whimsical and offbeat feel of the event.

An added twist to the tree lighting was provided by Darth Vader, who brought along his specially trained and elite Stormtroopers who engaged in an attack on the event. Meanwhile, Krampus, who is a horned creature and part of December traditions in some European countries, also paid a visit as he looked through the crowd for naughty children.

This is just part of a series of special Mad Hatter events that are scheduled for the month of December. Anyone who would like to find out what’s in store is asked to visit the festival’s website.
