Interim fire chief appointed for Vallejo

Frank Drayton, former fire chief of Vacaville, has been appointed as interim fire chief of Vallejo. Jason Ta, interim police chief, had been running both departments since the beginning of April.

Such appointments often have a need for business card printing services.

Chrsitina Lee, spokesperson for the city of Vallejo, said that Drayton has over 30 years of experience in the services of fire protection. His most recent position was as deputy chief for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. He was chief of the Vacaville Fire Department from 2011 to 2015, prior to which he was a division chief for four years.

Drayton also served for 20 years in the military. He served as a firefighter in the United States Navy and was fire chief at Travis Air Force Base for the 349th Air Mobility Wing Reserve. He was a volunteer firefighter in Dixon where he began his career and after his service in the Navy he returned to Dixon.

Andrew Murray, the city manager of Vallejo, said that the proven leadership and extensive experience of Chief Drayton in fire services makes him an ideal person for the position of Interim Fire Chief. Murray expressed his confidence that under his leadership, the Vallejo Fire Department will continue to ensure the well-being and safety of the community and deliver excellent service.
