Downtown Vallejo businesses growing

There has been a national trend in the direction of busier downtowns and it has been reported that Vallejo could be benefiting from this.

However, some of the growth witnessed in Vallejo may be the consequence of

strengthening internal cooperation as well as typical downtown regeneration. Regardless of what is driving the development under discussion, there might well be a surge in demand for printing services within Vallejo. Rich Curtola, the president of Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, has told the Vallejo Times Herald:

“There’s been a renaissance of communication between various concerned factors in Vallejo in the past couple of years. People who formerly were not friends have combined efforts to work together and that’s creating positive change.”

Local business owner Ken Ingersoll has also commented on the nature of the transformation that has begun. Mr. Ingersoll has formed his own opinions about what has been driving the positive changes that have been widely noticed. He has said that one factor has been an improvement in the local neighborhoods driven by a shift in urban policy.

Mr. Ingersoll, who is the proprietor of Gracie’s Barbecue, has observed that the improvement of the downtown district has not been the only process going on. He has highlighted the point that a similar phenomenon has been having an impact on the waterfront, where weekend parking is now harder to find than it once was.
