The Carquinez Quad Squad (CQS) will be holding its spring Bootcamp this weekend in Vallejo.
This Bootcamp will focus on the beginner roller skate skills needed for taking part in roller derby as safely as possible.
There will be sessions on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Sundays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Bootcamp will be held at the Solano County Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Drive in Vallejo. The cost for the sessions is $60 for the six weeks and it is for those 18 years of age and older.
Full gear is required, which includes a helmet, elbow pads, mouthguard, quad skates, kneepads, and wrist guard. Participants need to be able to get up from the ground, move, and stand independently while on the skates. Flyer printing can be used to provide more details about such sessions and their requirements.
Carquinez Quad Squad (CQS) is a female roller derby league. Its mission is to develop, empower, and educate a community around roller derby and to provide the chance to engage in a sport that is competitive, driven by volunteers, and focused on health. For those who may not want to play, CQS is always looking for sponsors, referees, and non-skating officials.
The Bootcamp runs from this Sunday, March 23 through Tuesday, April 29.
