Mare Island PedalFest LLC will be hosting a Lap of the Shipyard on Mare Island in Vallejo later this month.
This is a family-friendly guided bike tour around the historic sites of Mare’s Island. The tour will include the first dry docks on the West Coast, the officers’ mansions, the historic core, the haunted armory, and St. Peter’s Chapel. The ride is four miles long with one hill. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
Flyer printing is often used to promote such special events throughout a city and surrounding communities.
There will be three tours throughout the day—10:00 am, 11:30 am, and 1:00 pm. Docent cyclists lead the tours, which are also supported along the way. The Bike Swap opens at 9:00 am.
Check in begins at 8:00 am. At 9:45 am, there will be C Men, C Women, and Beginners Open Race followed by B Men, Men Singlespeed B, and Master B Men 35-, 45-, and 55- Races at 10:30 am. At 11:30 am, lunch will open and there will be Pro Women, Women Singlespeed B, and Master B Women 35-, 45-, and 55-Races. A Kids Short Race will be at 12:30 pm. The last race will be the Lonesome Louis Team Relay Race at 2:00 pm.
This event will take place on Sunday, September 24 beginning at 10:00 am.
