Benicia Arsenal Artists will be hosting their Open Studios next month. Residents of nearby Vallejo will not want to miss this special weekend.
There will be over 50 artists from the San Francisco Bay Area who will be opening their studio doors to the public. The studios are in five historic locations, including the mansion of the Commanding Officer, which are all walking distance from each other. Attendees will be able to park their car in one location and walk from one studio to another.
This event offers a unique opportunity to see the work of artists, meet them, and talk about their creative processes. Among the types of work being displayed are landscape painters, photographers, printmakers, and sculptors, with artists working in a wide range of media that will include glass, wood, and ceramics.
The Open Studios will include printmaking demonstrations on both days from noon to 3:00 pm. There will also be music at Arts Benicia on Commandant’s Lane, featuring Jim Kovalcik, Marcy and the Improv Players, Leo Cavanagh, and Steve Webber.
Events such as this one offer a unique opportunity for such artists to order marketing and promotional supplies from local Print shops.
Benicia Arsenal Artists will take place on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at historic Arsenal Park on Tyler Street.
