Vacaville looks to keep city funded

Officials from Vacaville are looking to fund a revenue measure so they can keep core services like 911 emergency response, police, and fire, and help pay for repairs to streets.

City Manager Savita Chaudhary has composed a letter to residents about this proposed measure, which the Vacaville Police Department is urging residents to carefully read and on which they will have an opportunity to provide feedback in upcoming surveys and briefings. This message from the Police Department also outlines potential next steps.

Chaudhary said that the city has already taken significant action to save money. She added that any new measure would have annual independent audits and an oversight committee of citizens designed to inform residents about accountability and transparency.

Officials from the city are reassuring residents that this proposed measure would maintain emergency response, keep public safety services intact, and fund neighborhood road and street repairs with all the funding to remain in the city. Such measures can benefit from flyer printing to provide more details on funding and the services it will provide.

The city is planning to hold a hybrid town hall at Three Oaks Community Center on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 pm to gather input from the public. Surveys and materials on the city website will be developed so that residents will have many chances to provide feedback before language on the measure is finalized prior to voting on it later this year.
