What's Happening in Vacaville, CA…

Veterans day parade to come to Vacaville area

A Veterans Day Parade will be held by the city of Fairfield in the downtown area. The theme of this year’s parade is “Forever Grateful.”

The city is within easy driving distance of nearby Vacaville, so residents of that city might want to attend.

The activities will start at 10:00 a.m. with The Commemoration Ceremony and Concert. Travis Air Force Base is hosting this event, and the Suisun City/Fairfield American Legion Reams Post will be conducting the concert, which will be held in the Downtown Theatre on Texas Street.

The parade itself will be at 12:30 p.m., and Kentucky Street will be the starting point. After this, the parade will follow Great Jones Street, Texas Street, and Washington Street.

Such events can benefit from poster printing, which can be distributed throughout a city and neighboring communities.

Those car clubs, marching bands, community groups, businesses, and other supporters who want to participate in the parade need to submit an application no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20. Entry fees are free for active military groups and veterans and vary for other organizations and groups. There will be several categories in which cash prizes of $150 will be awarded, with a sweepstake award of $250. Nominations for Grand Marshal are due Friday, October 3.

These events will take place on Veterans Day, Tuesday November 11.
