The Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) has been launched by the city of Vacaville.
This is a data operations and public safety hub that is the first in the region designed to enhance the quality of life, improve emergency response, and increase officer and community safety through informed and timely decision making.
The main capabilities of the RTIC are integration with criminal and dispatch databases to track vehicles, suspects, and patterns; support for filed officers during active calls to monitor risks as they evolve; intelligence support for critical incidents and calls in progress access to public safety camera feeds to support real-time response decision-making; and collaboration in the region through the sharing of data with allied agencies.

The Police Department of the city of Vacaville led the development of the RTIC. It is a technological initiative that was made possible by a grant of $4.4 million for the California Board of State and Community Corrections that is designed to combat organized retail theft.
Mayor John Carli said that this program reflects the commitment of Vacaville to proactive public safety and innovation. He added that this technology provides officers with a strategic advantage and is a use of public resources that is forward-looking and will protect both the officers and the community.
