Major highway improvement project in Torrance completed

The Interstate 405 Operational Improvement Project at Crenshaw Boulevard and 182nd Street in Torrance is now completed.

The cost of this project was $113.7 million and was designed to improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and optimize traffic circulation in the region along one of the busiest parts of the freeway in Southern California.

The project runs from mile post 14.3 to 15.8 and focuses on improving the operation of Interstate 405 and its off and on ramps at the intersection.

News of the completion of such projects can be made known throughout a city and region with flyer printing.

Craig Bilezerian, Director of Public Works for Torrance, said that now that this project is completed, this will be a significant step in improving transportation for the city and the region of South Bay. He said that his team worked with the partners of the agency to ensure these significant upgrades were made. Bilezerian added that these will enhance safety and reduce delays in traffic and congestion for residents, visitors, and those in the region in general.

Gloria Roberts, Caltrans District 7 Director, said that Caltrans appreciates the investment from those in the South Bay Cities Council of Governments, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the city of Torrance, as well as their partnerships in this project which is an important part of the highway system in the state.
