Hospital in Torrance earns major recognition

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Torrance Memorial Medical Center as one of its Best Hospitals for 2025-2026. This is the 14th year the hospital has been recognized this way and places it in the top 3% in the state.

Torrance Memorial is now positioned third in the region of Los Angeles and Orange County and eighth in overall hospital quality in California. It achieved national rankings in OB/GYN, orthopedics, and geriatrics, and was rated as high performing in seven specialties and 18 common adult procedures and conditions.

News of such recognition is often made known throughout a community with flyer printing.

CEO and president of Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Keith Hobbs, expressed his pride in seeing these rankings reflect the commitment of the hospital to its extraordinary care centered on patients, particularly with this being the 100th anniversary of the hospital. He added that this achievement highlights the promise made when the hospital was founded, to provide the highest level of service and quality to the community.

A rigorous analysis of data including levels of nursing care, preventable complications, and risk-adjusted mortality rates is used to determine the Best Hospitals’ rankings. A review of outcomes from more than 800 million patient records is used to determine the specialty rankings. U.S. News evaluated over 4,400 hospitals across 22 procedures and conditions, as well as 15 adult specialties.
