Stockton to provide funding for community support

A Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) has been issued by the city of Stockton for the Community Support Grant Program.

The program will provide funding to organizations that deliver activities and projects that respond to the impacts of the past two years and offer services that are not currently met in the community.

Local Print shops can be valuable in spreading the word about such funding with Flyers and mailers.

These funds will enable the city to awards money for new programs and for existing programs that have been funded from other sources and create opportunities with non-profit and other organizations in the area. The grants will be between $50,000 and $500,000 each with the total amount available for these rewards being $2.7 million. The American Rescue Plan Act is making the funding available for these projects.

Criteria for the proposals for these funds need to show how unmet needs in the community will be addressed. This can include shelter programs and services, housing, and upgrades to existing homeless operations; improvements to food distribution and delivery, such as mobile farmers markets; youth programs including sports, education, and mental health; and support for small businesses.

Proposals for these projects and activities need to be submitted to the city by noon on Monday September 12. Recipients of the funds will be notified by the end of the month.
