National Parks and Recreation Month is the theme in Stockton this month.
The theme of this celebration is “Unearth the Stories and Unleash the Fun,” and it will feature library services, community experiences, recreational programs, and free events designed to inspire connection, creativity, wellness, and learning. National Parks and Recreation Month is a celebration of the important roles libraries, community centers, recreational programs, and parks play in enhancing the life of a city or town’s residents.
One upcoming program is Crafting with Technology, which will explore 3D printing, circuit machines, and hands-on maker activities. This will be at the Seifert Community Center on W. Benjamin Holt Drive on Thursday, July 23 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Soon after, Sprouting Healthy Eating Habits will be at the Ursula Meyer Community Center on E. Morada Lane. Attendees will watch live demonstrations, learn healthy cooking tips, and explore affordable and nutritious recipes that can be cooked at home. This will be on Thursday, July 30 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The final event of the month will be Painting in the Park and will enable attendees to create their own masterpiece while enjoying an evening of outdoor fun, community, and creativity. This will be at the Van Buskirk Community Center on Houston Avenue on Thursday, July 30 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Poster printing can be used to spread the word about such celebrations and their special activities and events.
