College in Stockton endorses contract for president

A new three-year contract has been approved for President Joe Bertolino by the Stockton University Board of Trustees. Bertolino became the sixth president of the university on July 1, 2023.

Announcements of such new contracts are often made throughout a college community with flyer printing.

During his term so far, many initiatives have been led by Bertolino including the development and launch of the Strategic Plan for 2025. This outlines priorities of the institution that align with the mission and values of the university, including regional engagement, inclusive excellence, and student success. He also established several course and degree offerings with community colleges, hired a provost and vice president for academic affairs to elevate and secure string academic leadership, and led a record-setting initiative for fundraising this past fall.

He also created a task force to explore the future development of the Atlantic City campus of the university as the first step in developing a strategic and business plan for the university as an Anchor Institution.

Chair of the board of trustees, Jose Lozano, said that President Bertolino has proven himself to be deeply committed to inclusive excellence, student success, and partnerships with the community. He added that board is proud to reaffirm its confidence in his leadership and to support his efforts to continue to develop the next chapter of the university.
