New economic director joins Stockton leadership

The new Economic Director of the city of Stockton has been appointed.

Ricardo Noguera has over 30 years of experience in economic strategy and community vitalization and has helped diverse communities across the country to grow and thrive. Announcements of such new positions often call for Business Cards to be printed.

Noguera has worked in South Florida, the Pacific Northwest, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay area. His efforts have led to the development of strategic partnerships, attracting significant private investment, and the delivery of large-scale projects that have a long-term economic impact and generate jobs.

Noguera joins the city of Stockton from the city of Brentwood, where he led major initiatives on economic development. His accomplishments there included marketing an Innovation Center spanning 300 acres, supporting the revitalization of the streets of the city, and helping secure a new location for Costco.

In his new role, he will oversee Stockton’s economic development programs, focusing on the creation of jobs, business attraction, revitalizing the downtown, and building a vibrant, inclusive local economy.

City Manager, Johnny Ford, said that the track record, vision, and experience of Noguera in delivering results make him an ideal addition to the leadership team of the city. He expressed his excitement about his ability to expand economic opportunities for the city and grow its economy.
