Stockton to hold witches parade

The Stockton Witches Ride will be held this month the week before Halloween. It is a parade where the ladies of the city ride throughout many neighborhoods in the community and throw out candy to the children.

Such events and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.

Participants are encouraged to dress up and spruce up their carts and bikes, making them as scary and spooky as possible, as there will be prizes awarded for the best in each category. Those who wish to be judged on their cart or bike and costume will go to the judges’ circle after the event. The judges for this year’s event will be Wee Center Director Amy Lachina, Ben Short from Trussville To-Go, and Jeremy Tuggle from Bryant Bank. The top winner of this year’s parade will be the Grand Marshall for next year and have the opportunity to select the charity of the event.

The donation is $10 per person for the participants. Proceeds of this year’s event will go the WellHouse Organization. This is a non-profit that supports and enables women who have been coerced into some type of unwanted labor or act to overcome their experiences and move forward with their lives.

The Stockton Witches Ride will be held beginning at 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 25.
