Stockton to build new business park

Ground has been broken on a new development in Stockton, to be called Airpark 599.

Covering 270 acres of land owned by the county, the development will become a business park next to the Stockton Metropolitan Airport. Miguel Villapadua, Supervisor of San Joaquin County, said that this will create the opportunity needed in the county. The future airpark has access to a port, two interstate highways, and an airport, and will become a destination for businesses.

The first phase of the development will have 1.2 million square feet of industrial space. This will become the home for a variety of businesses with the potential of creating thousands of jobs – many of them no doubt requiring business card printing services in the future.

Tom Patti, County Supervisor, said he believes his county offers particularly desirable land. He added that 100,000 people come over from the Valley into this area so it would be desirable to keep them here. He said there will be at least 5,000 jobs waiting for them as Kraft Heinz has just expanded its operations, and Tesla is also looking to expand, and that many places in the region are interested in this project.

The first phase is expected to be completed by the end of next year. Catellus is partnering with the county to build this project.
