E-retail giant Amazon will be opening a new inbound cross dock (IXD) center in Stockton and is looking to fill 2,200 positions at the facility.
This new center will be on the southeast border of the city on S Austin Road. It will span 638,000 square feet and will be the fourth facility for Amazon in the Stockton area. It will be used to receive and secure products from vendors and then ship those products to fulfillment centers in the area. Amazon has said that having such IXD centers near fulfillment centers enables the company to reduce costs through reducing the need for inventory and warehousing space; decrease fulfillment time on orders and improve on the time for deliveries; and eliminate the need to move products in and out of storage.
The positions that need to be filled are both part-time and full-time. The pay rate starts at $17.55 per hour and includes paid parental leave, paid time off, and health benefits. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and should have a high school diploma.
Human Resources manager at SCK4, Nicole Bilich, said that there are many career opportunities from which to choose, ranging from senior management to problem-solver and those interested in robotics. Many such positions often require business card printing services.
The center is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
