New market now open in Stockton

The first Sprouts Farmers Market is now open in Stockton.

It is in Sherwood Place next to Burlington. Justin Long, the vice president of development at Brixton Capital, the private real estate firm which acquired Sherwood Place, said that the market has a strong customer loyalty, so residents of Stockton are sure to be glad of the opportunity to shop locally to get their favorite groceries at Sprouts.

Sprouts is run by Angel Baptista, who is a native of Stockton and has been working at other locations of Sprouts for five years. The store has 84 employees who are residents of Stockton or students from San Joaquin Delta College. The store is looking to hire an additional 16 people. Poster printing can be used throughout a town to advertise the availability of such positions.

The Stockton location has an innovation center which has products that are exclusive to Sprouts and items that are brand new to the market. Among the featured items will be Mmmly soft baked cookies in a variety of flavors and Sweet Laurel pancake mix.

In addition, the store buys its fruits and vegetables from local farmers. The produce is changed every morning and throughout the day with items pulled from the shelves donated to Second Harvest of the Greater Valley. Sprouts also offers a wide range of gluten-free and organic foods.
