The Stockton Arts Commission (SAC) is now accepting applications from artists and art organizations for grant funding.
A total amount of $100,000 in funds will be awarded. The amount of each grant is typically between $1,000 and $10,000. Most grants range from $1,000 to $5,000. The awarding of grants is a competitive process. The SAC will determine which proposals best meet its guidelines to receive the limited grant money available.
Any amount of funds may be requested by applicants although the SAC reserves the right to fund only part of the requested funds and may determine which part of the project request is recommended for funding.
Projects need to support excellence in dance, traditional and fold arts, art education, music, museums, opera, presenting and multidisciplinary works, theater, and visuals arts. The projects themselves can be new, existing, large or small and must take place in the city of Stockton. Projects may consist of one or more specific events or activities and must be open to the public and need to take place between January and December of next year.
Those who receive funding will be required to present to the public at a Stockton Art Night event. Details about such grants, their requirements, and how to apply for them are often covered with flyer printing.
Applications need to be submitted online and are due next week by Friday September 27 at 5:00 p.m.
