To take advantage of the free fishing opportunity, a child must be 12 or under. However, those anglers who encourage them will have the chance to do so without incurring fees.
Terry Willard, a marketer at Camanche Recreation Company (CRC), has taken an idea that had enjoyed local backing and translated it into reality. Willard has not been slow to acknowledge the contribution of residents to the project. In particular, she has mentioned the activity of Gene Buie.
As a result of the collective effort, a dock, restrooms, and picnic tables have been constructed on the site. Volunteers have reportedly put many hours into getting things ready, and CRC could use flyer printing in Stockton to generate publicity for the initiative.
Willard has said:
“The goal of the residents, East Bay Municipal Utility District and Izzy Guerrero, general manager of Camanche Recreation, is to inspire and teach the art of fishing to the next generation of anglers, and to experience a fun family time.”
Willard has underlined the point that the project is a new development for the region. The area around Stockton in Northern California is abundant in wildlife, but some types of fishing in certain locations are restricted in order to help preserve stocks.
