The San Joaquin Asparagus Festival will be taking place at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton next month.
Such events often turn to poster printing to promote themselves throughout a community and a region.
This will be a three-day event filled with asparagus-related events. Asparagus Plaza will feature delicious food made with asparagus, such as steamed asparagus with garlic butter and asparagus ice cream, and the Michelob Ultra Beer Tent. There will also be local chefs cooking some tasty dishes with an asparagus theme throughout the weekend.
The Spice Islander, who are steel drummers, will be playing sounds of the Caribbean throughout the weekend and in between the chef demonstrations. There will also be a petting zoo, monster truck rides for $10, and free mini-trackless train rides.
A highlight of the weekend will be the asparagus queen and princess pageant. Those who have been selected as one of three queens or a princess in the pageant will received educational scholarships and the three queens will be server as the official hostesses of the festival. The pageant will be held on the second day of the festival and the princesses will be showcased on the last day of the festival.
The festival will be held on Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13 from noon to 10:00 pm, and on Sunday April 14 from noon to 8:00 pm.
