The Central California Chapter of the American Planning Association and the San Joaquin Valley Regional Planning Agencies have given Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. (VHB) the Residential Development Blueprint Award.
This is for Grand View Village, their newest affordable housing community, which is at San Joaquin and Miner Streets in downtown Stockton.
Announcements of such awards and their significance for a community are often made throughout a community with flyer printing.
The Blueprint Awards program encourages high-quality development and planning by recognizing those practices and achievements that are outstanding in the built environment. It celebrates and recognizes leadership and projects that reflect the principals of the program, which include creating functional, attractive, and environmentally friendly projects that have relevance in the San Joaquin Valley.
Grand View Village exemplifies these principles. It has 75 affordable housing units that feature sustainable design elements, and includes over 10,000 square feet of community and commercial space for a grocery store in the future. It also contains a community center and a Head Start program, both of which are on-site.
Grand View Village also connects residents with the surrounding community, which offers schools, employment opportunities, the Robert J. Cabral Train Station, and the Downtown Regional Transit Center. There are bicycle paths and enhanced sidewalks for pedestrians, too.
The Village will also be offering Regional Transit District public transportation vouchers to its residents.
