Southern California chamber plans mission to nations capital

The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce is planning a trip to Washington, D.C. next month. Businesses from Sorrento Valley will most likely be interested in this trip.

The trip will provide the opportunity for business leaders in the San Diego area to voice their needs and meet with the top policy officials and legislators in the country. These will include representatives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the United States Customs and Border Patrol, and the Department of Transportation.

Attendees will also be able to voice their ideas to such key decision makers about issues that are important to the creation of jobs and business growth in the San Diego area. There will also be networking opportunities with elected officials on the federal, state, and local levels for making business connections. Business card printing could be most valuable for such opportunities.

Sponsors of the trip include Kaiser Permanente, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Bank of America, and San Diego State University.

Those who plan to travel to Washington, D.C. are invited to a pre-trip meeting from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Chamber’s office in San Diego on Wednesday September 18. The trip itself will take place from Sunday, September 22 through Wednesday, September 25 at the W Hotel. A Welcome Reception is planned for Sunday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m.
