The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) and San Diego State University (SDSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
This indicates a shared commitment to enhancing pathways for student transfers, expanding access to higher education, and supporting workforce development in the region, with a new academic building at SDSU Mission Valley.
This may be of interest to qualified students in the Sorrento Valley area.
Guarantted admission will be provided by SDSU for eligible students from Miramar, Mesa, and San Diego City colleges, beginning with those applying for admission for the fall of 2026. Students must receive an associate degree for transfer from a campus in SDCCD in a specified field, be eligible for admission to California State University (CSU), and meet other minimum requirements. Brochure printing can be used to provide more details on such programs.
SDCCD will also develop an academic building oriented to STEM at the Innovation District at SDSU Mission Valley. This will be a space designed for research, education, and industry partnerships. This will be the first collaboration where a large community college district and a CSU campus co-locate and co-develop student services and academic programming in a shared space in an innovation district.
Adela de la Torre, president of SDSU, said that this agreement reflects the shared commitment of the two educational entities to transforming higher education that benefit the students, economy, and workforce in the region.
