Semiquincentennial festivities to come to Sorrento Valley area

A celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States and honoring of its connection to Liberty Station of the U.S. Navy will take place in San Diego next month. Liberty Station was once the Naval Training Center in San Diego.

The day will start with a Fleet Week 5K Fun Run, which is a community 5K walk and run open to people of all abilities and ages. It will start at Liberty Station and traverse the waterfront and surrounding paths.

This will be followed by a parade along Cushing Road with themed floats honoring community, service, and freedom. The route is approximately a half mile long. This will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A Community Festival will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Ingram Plaza. There will be live music from the U.S. Navy Band, food vendors, interactive experiences, family-friendly activities, and a wing eating competition hosted by Dirty Birds. Among the sponsors of the day’s festivities are Heritage Landscape, LOT Commercial Property Services, Dirty Birds, and RPMS.

Local Print shops can be excellent partners when promoting community events. They can deliver vibrant Flyers, Posters, Banners, and other printed materials that help attract attention and draw crowds to special events.

This event, called “Anchored in Freedom,” will take place on Friday, July 3. There is no cost to attend the parade and the festival.
