Robert Koenigsberger, an alumnus of University of California San Diego (UCSD), and his wife Dilek have given a $5 million endowed gift to the university. The donation will go towards advancing academic education and research in financial markets.
In recognition of this gift, the Kroner Center for Financial Research at the Rady School of Management will be renamed the Kenneth Kroner, Jennifer Kroner, Robert Koenigsberger, and Dilek Koenigsberger Center for Financial Research. Its more common name will the Kroner and Koenigsberger Center for Financial Research. Students in the Sorrento Valley area may be inclined to explore the offerings of this center and consider applying to the school or advancing their research.
The center helps improve the financial security of millions of people around the world who are retired. It connects owners of assets, such as foundations and pension funds, with leading academics, and carries out research that guides the investments of these institutions and protects the insurance, long-term retirement savings, and other assets of individuals.
News of such endowments and their impact on individuals can be made known throughout a community and elsewhere with flyer printing.
Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla expressed his gratitude to Robert and Dilek Koenigsberger for their support, which will strengthen the ability of the center to protect the long-term security of those who are retired around the globe, and advance research to improve financial systems.
