A new exhibit is now viewable at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla.
This exhibit highlights the recovery and conservation efforts of the endangered mountain yellow-legged frog. Residents in the Sorrento Valley area who are interested in these efforts might want to visit this exhibition.
The exhibit features a fictional mountainside in California designed to recreate the habitat of the amphibian, the threats it faces, and the ongoing efforts of conservation. The exhibit is titled “Imagine Wild: Mountain Yellow-Legged Frog.” Visitors can explore the forest and the lake and meadow environments while learning about the efforts spanning many decades to restore the mountain habitats of Southern California, and reintroduce the species into the wild. Some of the mountain yellow-legged frogs of the Birch Aquarium are also featured in the exhibit.
Such unique exhibits can benefit from flyer printing to help promote them throughout a region.
Birch Aquarium began its conservation efforts two years ago. Since then, it has raised hundreds of tadpoles, cared for them into adulthood, and released them into a wildlife preserve last summer. The aquarium is currently teaming up with San Diego Zoo to raise another cohort of frogs.
This exhibit runs through March 2027 and is included with general admission to the aquarium. Birch Aquarium is on Expedition Way and opens every day at 9:00 am.
