The Baby Grand Hotel in the upscale Coronado neighborhood of San Diego is now open.
Having opened on May 14, the hotel has taken over the space that was once the La Avenida Inn, located across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. Residents of the Sorrento Valley area might be interested in trying out the high-quality dining options and touring the luxurious hotel.
The interior of the hotel has a Mediterranean-inspired design. Among its features are Roman-style mosaics, sand along the pool imported from Turkey, Spanish artwork, and Italian glasswork. The dining room resembles a classical ruin from ancient Greece. Overall, the hotel is a celebration of atmosphere, mood, and environmental storytelling and is filled with rich details.
The flagship restaurant of the hotel is Night Hawk, which is an outdoor Mediterranean restaurant on what was once the parking lot of the La Avenida Inn. Its menu is based on the cuisine of the Greek Islands. A café and bar, Fallen Empire, requires reservations and offers specialty drinks and oysters.
Arsalun Tafazoli, head of CH Projects (the developer of the hotel), said the aesthetic of the hotel is difficult to describe, but is built around a sense of discovery and mystery. Such new and unique hotels can benefit from brochure printing to highlight their features and offerings.
