The California Transportation Commission has announced that it is awarding San Diego County tens of millions of dollars for infrastructure projects.
This may be of great benefit to residents of Sorrento Valley, who live and work in the county.
Close to $3.5bn will come from the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 and another $330m will come from the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
News of such funding and their value for residents can be made known throughout a region with flyer printing.
One of the projects is worth $105m and will be used for improvements to the pavement at Interstate 5, as well as its bridges, Signs, drainage systems, and other features between Via Del La Valle and Camino De La Plaza. Another $36.1m will go to the San Diego Association of Governments and Caltrans for construction of drainage systems, paving, earthwork, and building temporary state and federal facilities at the state Route 11 Otay Mesa Lane Port of Entry.
An amount of $22m will also go to Caltrans to replace damaged culverts on Interstate 8 from state Route 79 to Corte Madera Road, while another $10.1m will go to Caltrans to rehabilitate four bridges on Interstate 5 at the 30th Street Pedestrian Overcrossing and on Interstate 805 from Telegraph Canyon Road to Federal Boulevard.
