A new, multidisciplinary center that will specialize in headaches, migraines, and the long-term side effects of traumatic brain injuries will be opening in Sorrento Valley.
The new UC San Diego Health Headache Center is on Directors Place in Sorrento Valley. Neurologist, headache specialist, and director of the new center, Nina Riggins, MD, PhD, said that the center will be partnering with primary care, spine and pain specialists, neurosurgery, and interventional radiology, among others, to treat those who suffer from debilitating and serious headache issues using a targeted therapeutic approach. It will also be the focus for research and education on headache and traumatic brain injury.
The Headache Center will provide both inpatient and outpatient treatment options, otoneurology, neuromodulation devices, and several other interventions. Brochure printing can be a valuable resource for providing more information for patients about such treatments.
A UC San Diego Health neurologist and chair of the Department of Neurosciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine, James Brewer, MD, PhD, said that there will be a coordinated and integrated breadth of care across specialties for patients that they would otherwise have to find separately. He added that patients with headache will receive the innovations of UC San Diego and the next generation of practitioners will be trained in this new model of care that crosses many specialties.
