Dockwalker training sessions will be held in Southern California over the next few months, with one in the Sorrento Valley area in April.
This training enables members of the boating community and the general public to adopt clean boating practices. Once trained, Dockwalkers visit marine supply stores, launch ramps, marinas, and other events and distribute educational 2020 California Boater Kits, while sharing boating information. Often, Print shops are hired to create materials with such information so that the community can retain this for reference.
Among the topics covered during the training sessions, which last for about three hours and are an overview of the educational materials that will be distributed, detailing how to conduct Dockwalking, state and federal laws, and the various sources that can be a potential cause of boat pollution. Those who are over the age of 15 and are interested in sharing info on clean boating and water quality can become a Dockwalker.
The Boating Clean and Green Program of California Division of Boating and Waterways and the California Coastal Commission lead the California Dockwalker program, which is implemented in partnership with The Bay Foundation.
The training session in San Diego will be held from 10:00 am to 12:45 pm on Saturday, April 25 in the Banquet Room at the Silver Gate Yacht Club. It is still going ahead at the time of writing, but checking for updates is advisable.Get a Free Quote for Print
