The town of Danville will be hosting its first student film festival and its fifth annual Danville Community Pianos. It is looking for submissions from students in middle and high school in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, as well as the seniors graduating from high school this year.
The Danville Community Pianos is a project in which two pianos are repainted with original artwork by students and displayed at the Danville Senior Center and the Danville Community Center. Students can work together in teams or as individuals and need to submit a single design sketch in color. The sketch needs to illustrate a concept that can be displayed publicly and should be clear as to what the final painted piano will look like.
An original film can also be submitted by students that will be shown at the inaugural Student Film Festival, which will be held at the Village Theatre and Art Gallery. Criteria for the films include being rated PG, no longer than 10 minutes in running time, having a budget of under $100, and featuring student actors.
Flyer printing is often used to provide more details about such projects and to encourage submissions from students.
Submissions for the Community Pianos are due Friday, May 24 at 10:00 pm, while Wednesday, July 10 is the deadline for the Student Film Festival. The Student Film Festival will be held on Friday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m.
