New housing development to come to San Ramon

Bishop Ranch in San Ramon will become the location for 255 single-family homes to be built by Sunset Development.

There currently is a residential neighborhood called Canopy spanning 27 acres being developed on the office building site of BR8 near Bishop Drive and Executive Parkway. Lennar, one of the largest homebuilders in the country, closed on 25 acres inside Canopy. Sunset Development owns the remaining two acres.

These homes will range from two to three stories in height. Landscaping around the perimeter will link the housing development on the east to Canopy and on the south to the CityWalk Development. There will also be a park covering five blocks that will feature a play area for children, a clubhouse, a community pool, and facilities for dogs in the center of the Canopy development.

Brochure printing can be used to highlight the features and amenities of such new communities.

President and CEO of Sunset Development Company, Alex Mehran Jr., said that Canopy will be a development that gets the residential experience right, with homes thoughtfully integrated into the neighborhood of Bishop Ranch, which is close to trials, parks, and many other amenities.

A much larger residential expansion is planned at Bishop Ranch that will include about 8,000 homes, as well as a boutique hotel and additional retail operations and restaurants in several neighborhoods.

The existing BR8 office building will be demolished, with construction to begin in mid-to-late 2027.
