The Citizen Planning Academy will be returning to San Ramon this fall. This Academy will last for five weeks with sessions held on Monday evenings beginning at 6:30 pm and ending at 9:00 pm at City Hall on Bollinger Canyon Road.
The goal of the Academy is to engage and educate residents about the planning process of the city. The course will provide an overview of the reason behind city planning, how planning determines the future of the community, and the planning process for land use. There will be a mock Planning Commission meeting at the end of the course for a theoretical project. The participants will serve as the residents, developers, and members of the Planning Commission. At some date to be determined, the attendees will be formally recognized at a meeting of the City Council.
Such classes that benefit the community are often advertised and promoted with poster printing such that poster are often displayed in key locations across the community.
There is no charge for the course but only 20 residents can attend, all of whom need to be over 18 years old. Those who are interested in attending the Academy need to apply by email, mail, or in person at City Hall by Friday, August 8. The class will begin on Monday, September 12.
