San Ramon has two events planned to mark Independence Day.
The first will be Run San Ramon to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the incorporation of the city. There will be a Fastest Mile Race, which is an out and back, and a 5K and 10K Race that follows a paved course through the city. All participants will receive a bib, a commemorative T-shirt, and a participation medal. This will be a chip-timed race.
The race will start and end at the San Ramon Community Center in Central Park. There will be an awards ceremony after all three races, with free ice cream and refreshments for all who participated in the event.
The Fastest Mile Race will begin at 7:30 am on July 4, while the 5K and 10K will take place beginning at 8:00 am.
Later in the day will be the 4th of July Concert and 40th Anniversary Celebration featuring Boys of Summer at Central Park. The Boys of Summer is an Eagles Tribute Band, and there will be wine, beer, food, water, and soda available for purchase offered by the San Ramon Arts Foundation.
