The inaugural Turkey Trot will be held at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon later this month.
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano will be the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from this race.
Such festive runs and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a city and neighboring communities with the use of flyer printing.
The race will begin at Bishop Ranch City Center and follow the gardens and paths around Lake Annabel. Participants are encouraged to dress in their best turkey outfits to be eligible for a wide range of gifts.
There will be three races. The Fast Turkey is a 5K race that is designed for those who can finish the route in under 40 minutes. This race will begin at 8:00am.
The Festive 5K is for everyone else who wants to be part of the festivities. This race begins at 8:40am, and ends when the last person finishes the course.
The TINY Turkey begins at 9:00am, and is for children under the age of five as a 50-yard dash around City Center.
All races are timed with a chip, and are on a flat landscape that has both packed dirt and pavement. The prices of tickets range from $15 to $42.50 depending on the event and age.
The races will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 23.
