Historic park in San Ramon offers many activities to residents

Several events will be taking place at the Forest Home Farms Historic Park in San Ramon.

Residents of such towns can learn more about these activities and events with flyer printing.

A Fun on the Farm Christmas Cards workshop will be held later this week. At this event, attendees will learn about the history of Christmas cards and see samples of cards from the Victorian era, as they appreciate the simpler things that life has to offer. Attendees will also make their own Christmas cards to take home. This event will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm tomorrow, December 17.

The new year brings other activities. Jacks and marbles were popular pastimes for children during the Victorian age and have their roots in ancient history. Attendees will learn about the history of these games and play them at an event on Saturday, January 7.

The Era of the Iron Horse will take place the following weekend. The “Iron Horse,” a nickname for the train, was and still is important in transporting goods and food across the country. Attendees will learn about the history of trains in the area and make a train craft.

Finally, there will be old-time Victorian music at the park on Saturday, January 21. Attendees will also be making an instrument to take home.
