First finance director named in San Ramon

Jennifer Wakeman has been named as the first director of finance of the city of San Ramon.

Such new positions typically require the services of business card printing.

Wakeman has over 22 years of experience in public finance, beginning her career in this field in 2002 as the assistant manager of Moraga.
She was the finance manager there from 2003 to 2005, and then added to her duties the role of deputy town clerk from 2005 to 2006.
She then become the senior accountant for the city of Walnut Creek in late 2006 and helped to manage the effects of the recession in 2008 for the city.

Wakeman was the financial services director for the city of Lafayette in 2014, and in the summer of 2019, she became assistant administrative services director. In this position, the Government Finance Officers’ Association award for excellence in financial reporting was given to the city for the first time.

Steven Spedowfski, city manager of San Ramon, expressed his excitement about having Wakeman join the San Ramon team. He added that everyone was impressed with her enthusiasm for implementing sound financial practices, her proven leadership, and her experience in municipal finance.

Wakeman said she is looking forward to working with the experienced team at San Ramon to manage the challenges and financial opportunities facing the city.
