Trio of rock heavyweights to play San Francisco

A tour with a name that speaks for itself is on the way to San Francisco.

The Hella Mega Tour features three rock legends: Weezer, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy. All three bands are known for their polished stage performances, which they give without losing the edge or energy that makes them great rock bands, and which made them superstars. The bands are known as much for their elaborate arena shows as they are for straight-ahead rock performances in clubs.

All three bands are veterans. Green Day got together in the Bay Area in the 1980s and rose to fame with their pop-punk 1994 album, “Dookie.” Weezer coalesced in Los Angeles and gravitated toward a more grunge sound, while Fall Out Boy teamed up in the early 2000s in the Chicago area, spearheading an emo-punk wave into the mainstream.

Just in time for the tour, all three bands are promoting fairly recent releases. Green Day dropped “Father of All” in 2020, which Billie Joe Armstrong, the band’s frontman, described as a mix of:

“. . . soul, Motown, glam, and manic anthemic.”

Weezer released “OK Human” this year, and Fall Out Boy released “Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die-Volume 2” in 2019.

Also, accompanying the three bands in the US are The Interrupters, a ska-punk revival outfit. Programs for events like this can be created using brochure printing.

The Hella Mega Tour will be at Oracle Park in San Francisco on August 27 at 5:30 pm.
