San Francisco takes on breast cancer with run

San Francisco is set to host a breast cancer awareness marathon in early June this year.

The Run for Breast Cancer community event aims to raise funds and awareness for individuals affected by breast cancer. The race will include 5K, 10K, and 13.1-mile half marathons, as well as virtual runs.

The race is open to participants of all ages, although those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants may choose to either run or walk. All registered participants will receive a swag bag containing a finisher’s towel, finisher’s medal, T-shirt, and digital training pack. Races typically sell out quickly, and if spots are unavailable, participants can register for the virtual run or join a waitlist.

While poster and banner printing are common for fundraisers such as this, printing services also often see high demand for running T-Shirts.

Fort Mason will serve as the event location, although the exact course map will be emailed to participants after online registration.

The race will be taking place on Saturday, June 6. Registration fees are $75.20 for the 5K, $80.50 for the 10K, and $85.80 for the half marathon. The scheduled time is 7:30 am to 10:30, but participants will set off in waves beginning at 7:30 am, 8:00 am, and 8:30 am. They are asked to email their preference when signing up.
