Funnywoman to visit San Francisco
San Francisco will soon get to meet a self-described “late bloomer.”
English comedian Sarah Millican performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008, where she won the “Best Newcomer” comedy award. She was named one of the UK’s “100 most powerful women” in 2013 by Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, and that year, married Gary Delaney. She is also an author and her book “How to Be Champion,” came out in 2017.
Millican’s debuted at the 2008 Fringe Festival with her show “Sarah Millican’s Not Nice,” in which she drew on her divorce from Andrew Millican for material. The following year, her second Fringe show again turned to the “battle of the sexes”, receiving rave reviews and a comment from the The Journal, a Newcastle paper, praising the comedian’s:
For her third Fringe outing, she developed the show “Chatterbox,” which appeared at the Stand Comedy Club. Although it earned a nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Award, Russell Kane was the winner.
Since her career began, she has appeared on countless television shows, specials, panel discussions, hosted several television shows, co-hosted others, and provided voice work for “Comedy Baps.” A review of her live show says:
