George Michael tribute show booked for San Francisco

A tribute to a best-selling artist is coming to San Francisco to celebrate a forty-year career.

“The Life and Music of George Michael” is a show performed in the style of a concert, using that method to trace the artist’s relationship with his music and his fans. This production uses accurate staging and lighting to recreate a George Michael performance that recreates the original. The production covers Michael’s career from the initial hits he had with Wham! to his successful career as a solo act.

George Michael’s fans will be on their feet and rocking out to hits like “Faith,” “Freedom,” and the iconic “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.” The artist’s career covered four decades that the show traces, from his beginnings with Wham! in the 1980s, to his success after he went solo. A review of this production says:

“It was amazing and I had a really good time. George came to life.”

A native of East Finchley, Middlesex, England, George Michael found fame in 1981 as part of Wham!. His legacy includes his songwriting and performing abilities, and he is one of the top-selling rock artists in music history. When he went solo, his debut album “Faith” won a Grammy as Album of the Year.

“The Life and Music of George Michael” is scheduled for October 18 at the Curran Theater. When they book shows like this, organizers often promote them using posters, which are available at print shops.
