A highly anticipated event will literally light up San Francisco this holiday season.
Let’s Glow SF is the nation’s largest holiday projection event, and it’s coming back to San Francisco just in time for the festive season. The free endeavor is an arts festival in which animated light installations are projected onto buildings throughout the city. This year, there will be 7 locations, lit up by 13 artists from throughout the world. In addition, a separate art installation will be shown at the East Cut Crossing.
The buildings to be lit include the PG&E Substation, Salesforce Tower, the Ferry Building, 101 California Street, One Bush Plaza, and the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange.
The Countdown to Glow kicks off at the Ferry Building on Market Street, where there will be opening remarks before the official start of the show. Live entertainment from Circosphere and Catalyst Arts, a DJ, and complimentary hot chocolate and coffee will add to the fun. Swag from Let’s Glow SF will be free and available as long as it lasts. Festival organizers will be accepting donations of new and gently used winter coats.
Let’s Glow SF runs December 6 to December 15, from 5.30 pm until 10.00 pm nightly. The kickoff at the Ferry Building starts at 5.00 pm, with opening remarks at 6.30 pm, and the light show itself starting at 7.00 pm. Organizers of events like this might consider using flyer printing to create a map of the participating locations.
