Rapper to rip it up in San Francisco

An up-and-coming artist will be rapping in San Francisco soon.

Rico Nasty, who is a native of Maryland, started her career in rap in high school, dropping the mixtape “Summer’s Eve,” in 2014. From 2014 through 2016 she released “The Rico Story” and “Sugar Trap,” and in 2017, dropped the single “Poppin.” The single was a huge hit, getting over five million views on YouTube, and was featured in an episode of “Insecure,” a series that ran on HBO. “Sugar Trap 2,” which she released in 2017, got noticed by Rolling Stone magazine, which called it one of the Best Rap Albums of the year.

It was in 2018 that she really began to attract attention, as several of her singles were viewed millions of times on YouTube and TikTok. Among those who noticed here were executives at Atlantic Records, who signed her, giving her the platform for her debut on a major label. For someone who is still in the beginning stages of her career, she has amassed a sizable catalog, with approximately 70 singles and 45 music videos to her credit.

A review said:

“Never heard of her or her music until I saw a poster at a venue while I was seeing another show. Nine days and two shows later I'm so hardcore Nasty Mob!”

Rico Nasty will be at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on May 12. When organizers plan events like this, they can use poster printing to publicize them.
