Popular annual event in San Francisco
San Francisco has plans for a popular annual event—Earth Day.
San Francisco Climate Week and Earth Month will kick off with the Earth Day festivities at Yerba Buena Gardens. There are demonstrations planned, starting at 10.00 am, when the Gardeners’ Guild will demonstrate how to plant trees. Guild members will work atop the Moscone Convention Center, where they will prepare a basin and get a native California tree ready, then plant and water it.
At 10.30 am, Amber Hasselbring of Nature in the City will lead a biodiversity tour of the Gardens. Participants will learn about native flowers and trees that are beneficial for wildlife. They will also be able to enjoy some of the Garden’s amenities including the Sister City Garden, the Great Lawn, and the Butterfly Garden.
At 11.00 am, Swami 3, a pop-rock group comprising three brothers, all teenagers, will perform. VIP guests will talk about the importance of fighting climate change, and giveaways, vendors, and other activities will take place throughout the day. At 1.00 pm, organizers will give away commemorative posters.
San Francisco’s salute to Mother Earth is scheduled for April 19, from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm. Yerba Buena Gardens are located at 750 Howard Street. The event is free and appropriate for people of all ages. When they plan events like this, organizers might consider using flyer printing to create a map of the site, as well as a schedule of activities.
