Jazz returns to San Francisco

The Golden Gate Jazz Festival is scheduled and will be held at the Presidio Theatre Performing Art Center, as Jazz returns to San Francisco.

The festival begins with Kim Waters and his guest Kayla Waters. JazzTime Magazine called Kim Waters:

“Simply one of the planet’s best saxophonists.”

Kayla Waters is a chart-topping jazz pianist and the first female composer/pianist to hold the No. 1 spot on the charts for six consecutive weeks.

Marion Meadows also appears the first day. An award-winning saxophonist, he released his album “Twice as Nice” in 2021 to great acclaim.

Tony Saunders & The Rainforest Band also appear the first day. Saunders’ CD “Sexy Somethin’” was on the charts for more than 70 weeks.

The second day brings a performance by the Count Basie Orchestra, which has been in existence since 1935 and has won 18 Grammys and performed in every major concert hall and jazz festival in the world.

The Escovedo Brothers, Juan and Peter, and Peter Michael Escovedo III are up next and Brandon the MessenJah a music producer, finishes off the second day.

The festival’s third day leads off with multi-instrumentalist Najee, who is followed by Jazz in Pink with Gail Jhonson, an all-star, all-female Los Angeles-based band. The Noteworthy Band, who first got together at The Blue Note in the Napa Valley, ends the festival.

The festival stretches over three days, July 22, 23, and 24. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create programs for audiences.
