True music legend coming to San Diego
A man who really merits the over-used title “legend” is coming to San Diego.
Ringo Starr was part of a little band called The Beatles. Starr and his bandmates John Lennon, George Harrison, and Paul McCartney exploded into the limelight in the 1960s, and led the “British invasion” of the United States. This lineup was together for only eight years, from 1962 until 1970, but they changed music history and remain the best-selling group of all time.
After The Beatles dissolved, Starr began releasing singles including “It Don’t Come Easy,” which was a Top Ten hit in the United States, and well as “You’re Sixteen” and “Photograph,” both of which were No. 1 hits. His album “Ringo,” released in 1973, made it into the Top Ten in both the U.S. and the U.K.
Ringo has also enjoyed a successful career as an actor, appearing in documentaries, hosting television programs, and playing the role of “Mr. Conductor” on “Shining Time Station” on PBS. Since 1989, he has been touring with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. A review says:
Ringo Starr will bring his All-Star Band to Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on September 7. Organizers of shows like this often contact printers with experience in poster printing to create advertising.

“What I was expecting was a . . . man nostalgically reminiscing over the music and band that made him famous. What I got was a . . . true talent in his own right.”
